Merideth: Hey, guys. Today we're checking out the MBRP 3-Inch P Series Single Side Exhaust System, fitting all 2009 to 2021 5.7-liter Tundras. Now, if you're in search of one of the most affordable exhaust systems for your Tundra, then you have found it. Now, this option by MBRP will be a very cost-effective way to improve the sound and performance of your 5.7-liter with a completely bolt-on kit. Now, when it comes to sound level, this will get a three out of five on the loudness meter with one being completely stock, and five being awake-the-neighbors loud. Now, this will increase the volume and deepen the tone, getting you that aggressive sound that you may be looking for while not being over the top, perfect for the daily driver who likes to hear their exhaust from time to time but doesn't want one that will be too overbearing. Now, because this is so simple and straightforward, this will also allow you to add whatever tip that you would like in the future, allowing you to customize this to your own personal preference. When it comes to the construction, this will be made of a 3-inch alumina steel, which will be very similar to the factory materials, keeping it more on the cost-effective side while still being very durable. This will also offer a straight-through style muffler, which will be responsible for that sound and small performance enhancement due to less restriction and smoother airflow. Now, like I mentioned before, this will keep it pretty bare-bones when it comes to what's included in the kit. So this won't have a tip included. Now, that will be for the Tundra owners who don't necessarily care about the style and is looking for function over the form of the exhaust, or, again, wants to customize this to your own liking. And the kit will also come with everything you need in order to install it and will be direct bolt-on, making the install very straightforward. Now, when it comes to price, this will be roughly $350, again, making this one of your most affordable choices for an exhaust system. Now, when comparing this to other systems, you'll see that others in the category at this price point are mainly for turn-down style exhaust systems, which will also be more on the simplistic side. Now, some other more pricey options will usually come with a little bit more, including one or two tips, a stainless steel construction that's a little bit more rust-resistant than this alumina steel here, or a completely different configuration like a dual-side exit or a rear exit. Now, my opinion, if you're looking for a no-frill to the point exhaust system that's going to give you the sound and performance that you want out of your Tundra, then this is going to be it.Now, install will be a light two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about two hours to get the job done with some basic hand tools. So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review. Let's go ahead and get into the install.Man: Tools used for this install, 3/8 electric impact gun, 14-millimeter, 15-millimeter, and 17-millimeter sockets, an exhaust grommet removal tool, 15-millimeter wrench, and PB Blaster.Hey, guys. I'm gonna show you how to uninstall and install our exhaust here on our 2018 Tundra. So let's get started. So first thing we're going to do is I'm gonna take some PB Blaster here now that I have my vehicle up on the lift. If you don't have a lift and you're supporting this thing with a jack and jack stands to get underneath it, make sure you support it properly so it doesn't fall. But I'm gonna take my PB Blaster here. I'm gonna spray a couple of my exhaust grommet hangers. There's one here, two up there, and another one. We're gonna spray those. I actually already did. We're letting them soak. And we're gonna take our exhaust grommet removal tool, get up there, disconnect the ones here, leave one hanging. We got some bolts up there to take off, and we'll remove the whole exhaust system in one piece. So now I'm at the back of the truck. We're at our tailpipe here. I'll take my exhaust grommet removal tool, and we're gonna remove this one first. And I already sprayed it with PB Blaster. So I'm just gonna get up in here and pop this out like that.So now we're gonna remove the one here by the muffler. Same thing. We're gonna take our exhaust grommet removal tool. Just push it in there and pop it off just like that. So now what I'm gonna do is remove our two 14 millimeters here. Then we're gonna remove some bolts we have up here holding it on. We have two other rubber grommets here that I'm gonna leave to hang and hold the exhaust up while I take these off. So I'm gonna take my 14-millimeter and my 3/8 gun here and remove these. And one up top. And once we got those out of the way, I'm gonna go to the front here, remove this one, and then remove the top one. Now, on our truck... It looks like somebody's had this exhaust off once or twice, and they must have broke the bolt off.So we put another bolt in. I'm gonna be using a different socket here. It's actually a 17-millimeter with a 15-millimeter wrench to get this one loose. But on your vehicle, if it's factory, it's gonna still be the 14-millimeter. So now I got that loose. And what I'm going to do is pull the bolt out, hold this down a little bit, pull the bolt out, and just let the pipe hang just like that. Make sure you save the gasket. You don't lose that one or the other one back here. There's another gasket on back here. Now we're going to get ready to remove the whole exhaust system in one piece. So now what we're gonna do is remove these two rubber grommets right here. Now, at this point in time, the exhaust is hanging in the back. You're going to want to get somebody to help you. I got my friend, Bill, here. He's holding the back up while I'm gonna hold the front. I'm gonna pop these out and get these rubber grommets out of the hangers here like that. That's one. And I'm gonna come over here to the other one and pop this one out like that. Now you're going to be able to, like I said, you're gonna want to grab somebody and we'll be able to fish this out. So now we're going to just fish it back through the back there. And me and Bill are gonna walk this thing right on out.So now we have our stock exhaust off. We're going to start by making sure our gasket's on. We're gonna install our front pipe here. There's two of them. This is the shorter of the two. It doesn't matter which one you start with. We're gonna start with this one. I'm gonna get it up inside our rubber grommet up here. I'm gonna get it in place like that. We're gonna take our factory bolts that we had, our two 14 millimeters. I'm gonna get these started here. Just start 'em by hand. And I'm gonna take my 3/8 gun again with my 14-millimeter on it and tighten them up.And now we have that one done. We'll install our other pipe. And now we're gonna install our other pipe. We're going to get this started in our grommet up here. Get that through. Now, we're gonna make sure to remember to put our gasket on and get that back in place, and we'll install our pipe. I'm gonna start my 14-millimeter on the bottom one here and get that started. And then, again, on our vehicle, we have a different size bolt on the top. Yours is probably going to be another 14-millimeter. So I'm gonna stick the top bolt in.So now I'm gonna take my 14-millimeter and my 3/8 gun and tighten the bottom one up. And again, I'm gonna have to change sockets. You won't have to. To tighten the top one up, I'm gonna get on this one up here. And now that we have our two lead pipes on, we will start by installing our muffler next. So next, we're gonna install our muffler. First thing we're gonna do is slide our clamps over top our pipes here, get them in place. Now we're gonna take our muffler, get it up in place here. I'm gonna slide it through that rubber grommet that we took the factory one off with. And I'm gonna do it both at the same time as I slide the muffler onto the lead pipes. So you kind of have to do it all in one shot. Hanger up there. Now we'll install our clamps. Now we're just gonna stick our clamps in place. And I'm just gonna hold 'em in place, run our nuts up like that. Same with this one. We'll get 'em in place. And I'm gonna take my 3/8 gun again with a 15-millimeter, tighten these up.So now when we put our muffler on, we put our axle pipe on too. That way, we were able to access this rubber grommet up here. We were able to put everything in place. So now what I'm gonna do is just line this axle pipe up that went up in place there, get it where I want it. And I'm gonna take my 15-millimeter on my 3/8 gun and tighten this clamp up. So now we're gonna install our tailpipe. I already have my clamp on. We're gonna get it up and put it in the hanger first. So, now, I'm just gonna tighten our clamp up. I got my tailpipe aligned where I want it. I'm gonna run these in. And that will wrap up this install. That wraps up this review and install of our MBRP 3-Inch P Series Single Exhaust System Side Exit for '09 to '21 5.7-liter Tundras. Thanks for watching. And for all things Tundra, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.

      Description

Exhaust Tone With Attitude. Give your Toyota Tundra the exhaust tone to match its aggressive styling with the MBRP 3-Inch P Series Side Exit Single Exhaust System. This exhaust system produces an exhaust tone that’s heavy on the low-end, giving your truck lots of attitude from ignition to acceleration. What’s more, this cat-back exhaust achieves this while remaining relatively drone-free inside your truck, making your drives easier on the ears.

Improved Flow and Performance. Your truck’s aggressive exhaust sound is nothing without performance, and this cat-back exhaust certainly delivers. This exhaust’s minimal bends and high-flow, straight through muffler ensures faster exhaust gas exit, as well as reducing exhaust temperatures. These factors combine to allow your exhaust system to “breathe” better, improving power and torque. This extra power and torque on tap ensure you’re able to get out any tight situations, be it on the road or the trail.

Robust Build Quality. Providing this cat-back with its robust build quality is a set of 3-inch wide tubes manufactured from high-grade aluminized steel. This construction provides excellent strength as well as corrosion resistance while keeping costs down. Each tubing is mandrel-bent, eliminating any turbulence areas along its inner structure, which can potentially rob our truck of performance. Meanwhile, its buffed finish and no-tip design provide a rugged, bare-bones look to match your truck’s muscular design.

Direct Install Procedure. The MBRP 3-Inch Installer Series Side Exit Single Exhaust System installs directly into your truck’s factory exhaust location. No modifications to your truck are necessary. Also, all mounting hardware is included for convenience.

Application. The MBRP 3-Inch P Series Side Exit Single Exhaust System fits all 2009 to 2021 5.7L Toyota Tundra models.
