Hey, guys. So today we're checking out the two-piece hard top in black fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. So whether you have a soft top on your Wrangler and are looking to switch over to a hard top for the winter months or the colder months or you have a factory hard top on your Jeep and you've started to seen some wear and tear and you're looking for an upgrade, this is going to be a great choice to take a look into. So this top is going to have a number of different features that the soft top is really unable to allow and it's definitely a big upgrade from the factory hard top. Now this is gonna come in a two-piece design so you will have that freedom panel up at the front if you are looking for that open air driving experience in comparison to some other tops that will not allow that or are going to have a one-piece design. Now this is also going to have a carpeted interior which will allow better insulation and better temperature control inside the Jeep which is especially great if you live in a colder climate or you're just looking to regulate that temperature in the colder months again. Now not only is it going to have that but it's also going to have DOT approved tinted windows at 31%. You're going to have the twin gas struts in the rear for whenever you open your back glass and it's going to be covered in a UV resistant black finish so it will resist any fading in the sun, keeping the hard top looking new for a long period of time. Now again, this is going to be a big upgrade from both the factory soft top and the factory hard top. So if you are again looking for a hard top that's going to provide a number of different benefits over the factory tops, this is gonna be it.Now with all that being said, this is gonna come in at roughly $2,500 which is a pretty good price point for what you're getting out of this kit and out of this hard top. Now hard tops are pretty expensive when it comes to mods for your Wrangler but you can tell that there is a lot of quality in the design and again, you're getting a lot of benefits out of this hard top that you're not really getting with a lot of other factory tops or even some aftermarket tops. Now in comparison to some other choices on the page, some may be set up a little bit differently, some may have that one-piece design and then others may have more of a fastback design instead of a factory style square back like this one. Now it really comes down to your personal preference. However, if you're just looking for a factory style replacement with that freedom panel in the front for that open-air driving experience and again, you're looking for those extra bells and whistles in the meantime, this is gonna be a great choice. So as far as install is concerned, I'm gonna give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It actually isn't that hard to get this hard top installed. You are gonna need some basic hand tools, an hour's worth of your time and a free hand to help. So speaking of that install, let's jump into that now.The tools that I used for this install were an impact wrench, a 13-millimeter socket, a T40 Torx socket, a flathead screwdriver and an 8-millimeter wrench. So to kick off this install, I would like to mention that the uninstall or the breakdown is going to be a little bit different depending on what top you have on your Wrangler. Now I am obviously working with the factory hard top so I'll show you how to uninstall that. However, if you are working with a factory soft top or even an aftermarket soft top, you wanna make sure that all the frame components are off the Jeep before we head into the install. So with that being said, our first step is going to be taking off the freedom panel. So I'm gonna undo some of these latches and make sure that everything is off so we can take off the back side of our hard top. Now you wanna make sure that you take off the two screws or the two tiedowns in the back through the sound bar. While we're up front, we can start to disassemble the hardware. So we have two bolts up at the front. You're gonna need a T40 Torx in order to remove those. I'm also using an impact wrench. Same thing for the other side. So next we can remove the three bolts on either side in our cargo area with the same T40 Torx. Now before we can actually remove our hard top, you wanna make sure that the factory connectors are disconnected. We have our wiring harness here and we also have the fluid for the wiper in the back. You just squeeze that on either side and it should disconnect. And now our hard top is ready for removal. So at this point with a help of a friend or a couple friends, you can go ahead and take off the hard top. And we can grab our new hard top and put it into the same place that our factory one was in.So what we can do at this point is secure our hard top to our Jeep. However, if you are working with the factory hard top, your factory tiedowns will not work. They are not the correct thread in comparison to the bolts that are provided. You can reuse your factory hardware if you'd like. However, we are gonna go ahead and use the provided hardware. Now there is going to be a similar flat style flag nut at the bottom so we're gonna put that in place of our factory tiedowns and then go around and secure everything down.So this one was already loose but you can take a flathead screwdriver and pry that out. And then we can take our provided nut and bolt and flat washer and thread that in. We can take a 13-millimeter socket and tighten that up. Then we can repeat that process for the other mounting locations. Then once you're finished with this side, you can repeat that same process on the other side and then we can head up front. Then we can take our provided hardware with the smaller flat washer, thread that into the factory location. Once you have that threaded in, you can take that same 13-millimeter socket and tighten it up.At this point, we can take our freedom panel and start to slide it over. You just wanna be careful that you're not damaging the top and you're also not damaging the Jeep. So because the fiberglass and the weatherstripping is new, the first time you put it on it may be a little bit of a tight fit but it will start to take its shape on the Jeep over time. So you are able to unthread the clamp itself. You do have a little jam nut that you'll be able to adjust. So when the fiberglass does lay a little bit better, you'll be able to adjust it over time. We wanna make sure that that's hooked into that tab there. All right. So once that's hooked in, we can clamp that down and continue to our other clamps. Now when you do tighten them up or loosen the jam nut, you can use an 8-millimeter wrench. Just gonna loosen that up because we need to extend this clamp just a little bit. Tighten that up. Make sure that it's secure with that 8-millimeter wrench. And we can push down the clamp and secure it in place. Once the three in the back are done, we can head up to the front two. Now if it's too loose like that, again, you just wanna make sure that you go back and adjust it. And after everything is secure, you're all set to go.So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
