Pre-Installation notes:

Pictures show the winch being mounted to a Barricade bumper which has not yet been mounted to the Jeep. It may be easier to mount the winch to the bumper prior to installing the bumper.

Installation Instructions:

1. Mount the hawse fairlead to the bumper using the provided bolts. A 5/16 Allen wrench and 17 mm socket are needed to tighten the bolts. See picture below.

2. Install the control box (solenoid) to the top of the winch. Be sure to center the box (if desired). Tighten the two screws with a Phillips head screwdriver. See picture below.

3. Connect the black, red, and yellow wires to the corresponding terminal. Tighten with a 13mm socket. After tightening, pull down the boots over the terminal. See picture below.

4. Roll the winch over onto its back side. Connect the black negative battery wire and black ground wire to the bolt on the underside of the winch using a 14mm socket. See picture below.

5. Return winch to the upright position. Place a bolt in opening of each of the four “legs” of the winch. See the below two photos.

6. Place winch on bumper, being sure to line up the holes in the bottom of the winch with the holes in the winch plate. Install the winch with provided bolts and tighten with a 17 mm socket (a 5/8 socket also works). See the below picture.

7. Run both the positive (red) and negative (black) cables into the engine compartment. Connect the red cable to the positive battery terminal, and the black cable to the negative battery terminal. Connect to the battery using 10 mm socket.

8. Remove cotter pin from tow hook. Connect tow hook to synthetic rope. Re-insert cotter pin and bend the ends of the cotter pin. The blue arrow indicates the cotter pin.

9. Install winch controller. Note that the connector has a groove (indicated by the arrow in picture below) so that it may only be installed one way.
