Hey, guys. So, today we're checking out the Axial LED Fender Flare Marker Light in a Smoked Finish fitting all 2018 and newer JL Wranglers. So, if you are looking for an upgrade to your lighting, you're looking for something that's a little bit more stylish and sleek for the front end of your JL, this option is going to be a great choice to take a look into and an affordable one at that. Now, this is going to completely replace your side marker light on the side of your fender here, giving it a very sleek look in comparison to the amber light that is usually mounted up there. Not to mention this is going to be incredibly bright considering that this is going to have two large LED strips inside, making you more noticeable while you're driving around on the street, especially with those bright LED lights there. Now, those are going to illuminate in an amber color. So, you will still have that stuck amber look when they are illuminated. However, the rest of the housing is going to give you a very sleek look to the side of the fender, which is great if you are a fan of that smoked, or blacked out look, especially when it comes to lighting, you're not necessarily a fan of that orange or amber look, this is going to be a great switch, and again, incredibly affordable. That's mentioned these are also going to be completely plug-and-play. I'll show you guys how to do that in just a second, no additional wiring making it very easy as well. Now, speaking of affordability, and pricing, these are going to come in at roughly $50. And again, in my personal opinion, I think if you're looking for an affordable mod that's going to get the job done when it comes to styling and function, this is gonna be right up your alley. Now, other options available in the category may be set up a little bit differently, they may have a smooth finish, however, they may not have a flush design here as far as the lens is concerned. They may have a race design, they may have a tri-bar design instead of the dual light strip that you'll see when this is illuminated. So, kind of comes down to your personal preference when it comes to a smoked marker light. However, with this option, you really can't go wrong. Again, this is a very functional light, it's going to look very sleek, and it's going to get the job done. So, as far as install is concerned, like I mentioned before as well this is going to be incredibly easy to do. I'm gonna give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter taking me no longer than 30 minutes with some very basic hand tools to get the job done. So, speaking of the install, let's jump into that now. The tools that I used for my install were an electric ratchet, a trim removal tool, a T30 Torx key, an 8-millimeter socket and a pick. So, in order to access the bolt for our side marker light, we will have to peel back the inner liner. So, for this you are gonna need a trim removal tool or a clip removal tool, you'll also need an 8-millimeter socket. So, first, we can remove this clip on the outside, I'm gonna use a trim removal tool in order to take that out.Once that's removed, we can take out the two 8-millimeter bolts that are holding in the front of our fender liner. I'm gonna use an 8-millimeter socket and my electric ratchet to remove those. Now, once those are removed, what we can do is peel back this liner and we'll be able to access the bolt that's holding in our side marker light. So, this part is going to be difficult to see, you're gonna have two 30 Torx, one is gonna be on this larger plastic piece. We're not gonna be addressing this one, we're gonna be addressing the one that is a little bit deeper in the inner fender. And again, it's gonna be difficult to see. However, if you have a long a T30 Torx key like this, you will be able to reach it, but it is going to be a little bit difficult with something a little bit bigger than this, so I would just keep that in mind. So, once you have the key on the bolt, what we can do is start to unthread it, it's gonna push the light outward. So, now that the bolt is out of place, the last thing that we have to do is unclip our harness here. Now, as you can tell this is a pretty small harness. Now, what I'm gonna do is take a pick and just pull up on that tab to release the harness. You could also use a very small flathead screwdriver. But once that is disconnected, you can wiggle that out the side of the fender, then we can grab our new light. What we can do at this point is grab our new light, this is gonna have a harness on the back, that's gonna plug into our factory harness. So, we can route that through and plug that in. So, at this point, before we mount it off completely, I would just recommend that you check that the light is working properly. And then we can turn it off and mounted up with our factory hardware. So, at this point, what we can do is kind of slide this into place, we wanna make sure that the mounting location lines up with the factory mounting location. There's gonna be a tab at the front that kind of hold it there. So, once that's in, what we can do is grab our T30 Torx key, we can also grab our factory bolt, and we can thread that into place. So, once that is tightened up, what we can do is reattach our inner liner, so we're gonna hold it back into place, we'll reattach those two 8-millimeter bolts and the clip over at the side. After this side is complete, we can repeat that same process on the other side. So, before I go ahead and install the other side, I do wanna step down for a second to give you guys a little comparison, show you some similarities between our factory lights and our new light. I will show you some of the differences and why this new option by Axial is gonna be a big upgrade. Now, starting off is a brief overview of our factory light. As you can tell this is going to have a large amber reflector, it's basically gonna take up the entirety of the light, and then we're gonna have a couple of small LEDs in here. Now, that is going to be noticeable while you're driving around on the street, but it is going to have that plain boring factory styling that we're all very familiar with. Now, we're moving over to this new option. This is also going to be LED, but it is going to be a lot better, and it's going to be a lot sleeker. Now, as you can tell we have a smoked black housing. Now, that's going to add a lot of sweetness to it the side of the fender here. I personally really like the fact that it kind of gets rid of the entire amber look. It's going to add a sleeker look and match with any other smoked accessories that you may already have on your Jeep, if you're a fan that blacked out or smoke look for your lighting. Now, this is also going to have multiple SMD LEDs, it will have a top and a bottom LED light strip. Now, with the factory one you're only getting two little LEDs in here. Again, not that noticeable, kind of noticeable while you're driving around. It does illuminate the reflector pretty well as far as stock lighting is concerned. But we're moving over to our new option that's not gonna be the case. These two strips are going to be incredibly bright. They also are going to illuminate in an amber color. So, even though you are deleting the amber reflector, we still are getting that amber marker light color with those LEDs. Not to mention the housing is super strong. This is going to have a durable housing able to hold up while you're out on the trail. And it is also gonna be IP67 rated, so no dirt, dust or any water is going to be able to penetrate the housing and get inside and harm those LEDs. These are also going to be DOT and SAE approved to make sure you are staying legal while you're driving around on the street. So, overall, this is going to be a big upgrade, it's gonna look a lot sleeker, and it's going to be a lot more functional and last longer, look better while it's mounted up to the side of your fenders. So, why don't we go ahead and install the other side. So, that is going to wrap it up for my review and install it. Make sure you like and subscribe for more videos and products just like this.
