Marideth: So, if your headlights are starting to wear and you want to completely refresh the front end of your 1997 to 2018 JK or TJ, these Axial 7-Inch LED Headlights with the Daytime Running Light, Black Housing, and a Clear Lens will do just the trick. Now, this set will offer some premium styling and also drastically change lighting performance on the front end of your rig if that's something that you're currently struggling with. Now, these will also add some stealthiness to the front end with the black housing, but it's not gonna compromise any light output with the tough clear lens on the front. Now, getting into the build, as you can see, this will have a unique style of halo that is broken up on either side, which will offer some non-traditional styling if you don't want the average halo headlight. Now, these headlights will also feature a section in the middle with the LED projector lenses that will create a very concentrated beam pattern and emit a lot of light, which will be very helpful for dark trails and dark back roads when you're driving at night.Now, above and below that you're gonna have a chrome reflector that's very similar to the factory housing that will assist in lighting just that much more. Now, I would like to mention that there will be some minor wiring required. As you can see, there is a little bit of wiring for that halo. However, it's very straightforward and the rest of it is going to include a plug-and-play install, making it pretty straightforward even though you do have to do a little bit of wiring there. Now, getting into the price for the premium look and performance that you're getting with this set, it's going to be very affordable at roughly $225. Now, when comparing to other choices, you'll see different styles or even features like multiple LEDs or projectors, a solid halo or even one that has a color-changing technology, or even just a simple factory-style setup.Now, a lot of the time lighting does come down to your personal preference in style, but if you want a headlight that isn't going to be the traditional cookie-cutter headlight and will offer a lot of light output and is going to be pretty affordable at that, then this is the set to choose. Now, install, again, will require a little bit of wiring, but it is pretty straightforward, so I am still gonna give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about an hour or so to get the drop done with some pretty basic hand tools. Now, one of our guys in the shop is gonna walk you through a detailed breakdown of what the install looks like. So, that wraps it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into the install.Man: Tools required for this install include a test light, zip ties, scissors, Phillips head screwdriver, wire strippers and crimpers, a clip remover tool, a T-tap, and male spades. What's up, guys? Today we're gonna be installing a set of headlights on our JK Wrangler, so let's get right to it. So, our first step's gonna be to pop our hood and get our grille out. So, we have these six push clips up top, and then a bunch of clips on the bottom that we can just release. So, we can get in there with a clip remover tool and pop these clips out. So, now we can pull back on our grille to release it and disconnect our harnesses. Now we can do the same thing on the other side. So, our next step is gonna be to remove our four Phillips head screws holding in our headlight. And then we can undo our harness and repeat that same process on the other side.All right. So, our first step is gonna be to start our wiring. So, we have our adapter harness and our anti-flicker harness. So, our adapter's gonna go straight into the green here. And then this plug will plug into the adapter harness, and then the last plug will be for the headlight. So, now we can install our headlight. So, this green connector is gonna go to our anti-flicker harness. And then we have this yellow cord that's gonna be for our daytime running lights. So, we can fish this yellow cord back through, and then we can connect our harness. And then we can reinstall our headlights around and our four Phillips head screws.So, you can wire up these daytime running lights however you'd like. What we're gonna do is tap into our blinker harness. We have a wire for running light and a wire for our blinker. So, we can go ahead and turn on our running lights, get a test light, and probe the connector, figure out which one is our daytime running light. So, when the light lights up, that's where we found our power. So, our running light power is gonna be on the white wire with the green stripe. So, to wire these up, we're gonna be using a T connector with a male spade. So, you'll close this around the wire, and then this can slide right in here, and that's how we'll get our power. So, we've already tapped our wire with a T-tap. So, we can go ahead and strip this wire down, install our male spade, and get that connected.Now we can crimp that down. Now we can go ahead and connect those two wires, and then we can take our excess and tie it up with the zip tie. And then we can cut off the excess of the zip tie with a pair of scissors. So, now we can reinstall our grille. So, we can plugin our connectors for our turn signals first. And then we can line up our tabs at the bottom. And then we can reinstall our six push clips up top.So, that'll wrap up this review and install of the Axial 7-Inch LED Headlights with Daytime Running Lights Black Housing and Clear Lens for your '97 to 2018 TJ and JK Wranglers.
