Hey, guys. So, today, we're checking out the Axial Single Row 30-Inch LED Light Bar with the Hood Mounting Brackets, fitting all 2018 and newer JL Wranglers. So, if you are in search of some better visibility while you're driving at night, whether you're driving on dark back roads or you're taking your Jeep out on the trail at night and you're looking for some better visibility in addition to your factory lights, then this option is going to be a great choice to take a look into. Now, this kit is going to consist of a 30-inch single row LED light bar, as it says in the name. And this is also going to come with some durable brackets that you're going to mount up to the hood hinges. Now, this is going to put it in a good location as far as a vantage point for a light is concerned. It's going to give you a lot of light out front of your Jeep. And it's also going to be a little bit different as far as the common placement for a light bar is concerned. I personally think it looks very sleek mounted up to the hood in comparison to some other choices like the windshield or the bumper. Now, this is going to be durable as well. It's going to have a polycarbonate lens on the front, so it is going to be completely transparent. However, it is going to be durable, perfect if you're taking your Jeep out on the trail. You're going to have an aluminum housing here, and it is also going to be IP67 rated, making sure no dirt, water, or dust is going to get inside and harm those LEDs. Now, speaking of those LEDs, they are going to be incredibly bright, which is going to come with a spread and a spot combo. The spot is going to give you the distance that you need for those LEDs, the distance in your visibility at night. And then the spread is going to light up whatever's in front of you. So, this is going to be a pretty common combination. However, it is going to be very functional and very useful, especially if you're driving around in dark situations and you need that additional light. Not to mention, I think it just looks very sleek mounted up to the hood and the brackets are going to keep it pretty elevated in comparison to some other options, which, again, is going to help out the functionality of the light bar itself. Now, with all that being said, this is going to come in at roughly $200, and for a 30-inch light bar with everything included in the box, that is going to be a great price. Now, in comparison to some other options available on the page, some other choices may have a different kit setup. So, some may not come with hood mounting brackets, some may come with the light bar itself, or they may come with the brackets, however, they may not include the wiring harness. Now, some other options may also just come with what you see here, but they may have a different setup as far as the LED. They may have multiple LEDs or a dual row instead of the single that you see here. So, it kind of comes down to your personal preference in the overall design and what you're looking for out of a light bar kit. But if you're looking for a full kit that's going to provide you good visibility while driving at night and also is going to look very sleek at an affordable price, then this is going to be right up your alley. Now, as far as install is concerned, I'm going to give this a pretty easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, going to take you about an hour to get everything installed. Everything is plug and play as far as the wiring is concerned, no additional wiring is needed. So, you'll need some basic hand tools and, again, about an hour's worth of time in the driveway. So, speaking of that install, let's jump into that now. Tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench, a 1/4-inch drive ratchet, 13 and 12-millimeter socket, a T50 and T40 Torx socket, and the provided Allen key. So, to kick off this install, we're going to start by installing our brackets. Now, those are going to sit on the hinges on the hood here and mount up with the two bolts that are sitting on the hinges. So, we're going to go ahead and remove those using a T50 socket. So now that those are out, what we can do is add our spacer. Now, this is just going to fill up the space in the hinge because we'll be using new bolts that are provided in the kit. So, at this point, we can grab our bracket once our spacers are in place. This is going to be facing forward and this is also going to be facing inside of the hood here. We're going to line that up. We're going to take our new hardware and we can thread that in.Now, I am gonna snug them up with a T40 Torx socket, not going to tighten them down just yet because these do have a little bit of wiggle room. We want to make sure that the other bracket is on and that our light bar is fitted correctly, then we can go back and tighten everything down. I'm just going to snug it up with the impact wrench. Make sure that there's a little bit of wiggle room there. Then we can repeat that same process on the other side. So, at this point, now we can carefully position our light bar into place. Now, we will be attaching it to the brackets with the provided Allen head bolts, and you will also get an Allen key in the kit that you can use to tighten them up. I'm just going to make sure that the wire is on the battery side, so the passenger side. And then, like I said, we want to keep these kind of loose just because we will need to move them a little bit to get it lined up. So, I'm going to take that Allen head bolt, and we can thread that into the side of the light bar. All right. Then we go to the other side and attach it at the other bracket. Now that we have it lined up at the other side, what we can do is just secure it down with the other Allen head bolt. And then we can tighten up the light bar.So, I'm going to continue to use that Allen key that's provided in the kit. So, once I start it in, we're going to completely tighten that up with the provided Allen key here. Now, you will be able to adjust this at the end when this is wired up. You want to make sure that it's not low enough that it's bouncing off the hood, but not high enough that it's not giving you the direct beam pattern out on the road. So, now we can tighten up the other side, completely tighten up our brackets, and then we can get it wired up. So, once the light bar is mounted up to the brackets and completely tightened down, we can take that T40 Torx socket and completely tighten down our brackets on both sides. All right. And we can get it wired up. So, now we're ready to wire up our light bar. As you can see, we are provided with a full wiring harness here. Comes with a switch. This also comes with a relay. We have two leads, one for each terminal on the battery, and then we have a plug-and-play connector that's going to plug it directly into our light bar. So, what I'm going to do is unravel this harness. I'm going to send the switch over to the driver side. That's going to be routed through the firewall on the driver side. So we won't need to do anything with that just yet. We're going to get it connected to the battery, and then we'll get the switch mounted up.Now, we want to keep the leads at the battery. And then we can take our plug-and-play harness, plug this in to our light bar. Make sure that you hear a click. We can run this down the side, make sure that that's out of the way. And then we'll be able to clean up this wiring in just a little bit, but we want to make sure that everything's plugged in and ready to go first. We'll just tuck this next to our battery here along with the relay. Switch wire can be tucked up behind our fuse box. Just tuck that for the time being just so it's out of the way. And then we can connect the leads to our battery. So, for the negative terminal, I'm going to grab a 13-millimeter socket. We can take off that accessory nut there and attach our lead from our wiring harness. Tighten that back up with a 13-millimeter socket. Then we can head over to the positive terminal, and using a 12-millimeter socket, we can attach the positive lead to one of the accessory. We kind of have to shimmy the cover out of the way. Tighten that back up with the 12-millimeter socket. Once that's tightened up, you can put the cover back over. Make sure that that terminal's covered up pretty well. And then we can work on our switch. So, right on the side of our brake master cylinder here, there is going to be a pass-through to what the inside of our cab area. So, I am actually just going to disconnect our switch. There is a small connector here that you can disconnect for the time being, then we can reattach the switch portion once the wire is in our cab area. So, I'm going to take this, it may be a little bit difficult to see. But once this is through, it'll drop right down to the left side of your brake pedal. You wanna make sure that this is also tucked up and away from the engine. You don't want the wire to burn, and we can zip tie that in just a second. Now, we can head inside our cab area and we can install our plug. What we can do now is take our switch and the plug, plug that in, make sure that that clicks, and then you should see a red light. This is just going to say off. Once that is all working properly, what we can do is take off this backing and you can stick this wherever you'd like. I'm just going to stick it a little bit lower. And then you'll be able to turn on and off the light bar from here. Now, what I do recommend is to tie all of the wiring up. So you can go back inside the engine bay and pull this taut, and then you can zip tie everything up and you'll be all set to go.So, that is going to wrap it up for my review and install.
